The Fontana Markeplace has created a new Social area and added a Fontana Cruise Night location to it's Home Page line-up. "What started as an upcoming events item quickly became an opportunity to provide an online forum to share the restoring experience that drives people to show off their cars at car shows." says Art Alcantar, Fontana Marketplace founder.  

 

By giving car enthusiasts  an inexpensive way to have their own webpage and photo gallery to showcase themselves and their cars, it further enhances their experience because they can now share their story and their cars with friends and family who otherwise can't or won't attend a car show. It also puts it in the context of an online car show which allows vistors to see other profiles and cars.

 

Alcantar says he sees a BLOG (weblog) in the near future and that he has already received a suggestion to have the public vote on Best Car contests. He says, that will require a commitee of car enthusiasts to develop the concept.

 

Alcantar says " This is what the whole Marketplace concept was about. Being able to take ideas and use web technologies to to develop specific ideas and concepts. Usually you don't know where concepts will lead until you just do it. Websites are great because you can build and change them as you're developing your concept."
